President Tatar Welcomes ASKON President and Delegation
President Ersin Tatar met with the Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON) Antalya Branch President Onur Kacar and his delegation in a recent meeting. The President was accompanied by Yusuf Tekinay, President of the Young Business People Association, and his delegation during the gathering at the Presidency.
During the meeting, Kacar expressed the association’s unwavering support for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and provided President Tatar with information about their activities. He extended his gratitude for the continuous support from the association and for accepting them.
In response, President Tatar emphasized the importance of enhancing relations with Turkey and working together to overcome challenges. Despite facing obstacles, Tatar highlighted the positive developments in the TRNC, citing increased figures and the country’s growing significance in the region.
Tatar acknowledged the efforts of Greek Cypriots to isolate the TRNC through unfair embargoes but reiterated the strong ties maintained with over 100 countries in various sectors, including tourism, education, and trade, through Turkey. He emphasized the TRNC’s resilience in strengthening its economic foundation and preserving its identity within the Turkish nation.
Recognizing the strategic position of the TRNC within the Organization of Turkish States, President Tatar underscored the country’s role in serving the interests of the Turkish world in the region. He commended the dynamic business community for their contributions and wished for continued progress and prosperity.
Following the speeches, the delegation presented President Tatar with a gift as a token of appreciation for the fruitful discussions and collaboration. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to fostering strong ties and advancing mutual interests.
