President Ersin Tatar Embraces Union of European Turkish Islamic Cultural Associations
President Ersin Tatar recently welcomed the Union of European Turkish Islamic Cultural Associations during a visit to the Presidency. The President of the Union, Imam Cengiz, expressed his honor and pride in meeting with Tatar and highlighted the union’s mission to protect the cultural values of Turkish immigrants within Europe.
Imam Cengiz shared that the union, based in Germany, views Turkey and Cyprus as its pupils. As part of their efforts to strengthen bonds with generations growing up in Europe, the union organized a training camp in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to educate members and promote Turkish culture and heritage.
During the meeting, the union presented Tatar with their publications, emphasizing their commitment to preserving Turkish cultural identity. President Tatar acknowledged the struggles of the Turkish Cypriot people to safeguard their cultural and national heritage in the face of challenges.
Tatar highlighted the importance of fostering relationships with Turkish Cypriots in Europe to promote the TRNC’s interests, strengthen investments, and enhance the community’s visibility in the European arena. He underscored the crucial role of Turkish citizens in supporting the TRNC and reiterated the nation’s close ties to the Turkish world.
Looking ahead, Tatar expressed optimism about deepening cooperation with the Union of European Turkish Islamic Cultural Associations and strengthening ties within the Turkish community in Europe.
