
President Tokayev’s Meeting with President Mattarella During Italy Visit

Kazakh President Tokayev Meets with Italian President Mattarella, Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Ties
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently visited Rome for an official meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, marking his first visit to Italy in his capacity as President. The two leaders discussed a range of bilateral issues, including economic ties, international cooperation, and mutual investment opportunities.
During the meeting, President Tokayev emphasized the longstanding and reliable partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy, particularly within the European Union. He expressed his desire to further develop economic ties and increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
President Tokayev also lauded Italy’s significant investments in Kazakhstan’s economy, with around 300 Italian companies operating in the country. He highlighted the need to create favorable conditions for investors and stressed the potential for cooperation in sectors such as green energy.
The two leaders also underscored the importance of multilateral cooperation in international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. They discussed the prospects for collaboration in transport and logistics, particularly in the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
President Mattarella congratulated President Tokayev on Kazakhstan’s ongoing political and social modernization efforts and expressed Italy’s keen interest in furthering economic, political, cultural, and humanitarian ties with Kazakhstan.
Overall, the meeting between President Tokayev and President Mattarella signals a commitment to strengthening the long-standing partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy and exploring new avenues for collaboration in various sectors.
