President Töre Attends Ceremony Honoring Çınarlı Martyrs and Releases Message
President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, recently attended a ceremony commemorating the Çınarlı Martyrs and shared a message regarding the significance of the event.
In his message, Töre highlighted the hardships faced by the Turkish Cypriots, including displacement and martyrdom, leading up to the Happy Peace Operation. He paid tribute to the 8 martyrs who lost their lives in Çınarlı between 1956 and 1974, emphasizing that the existence of the TRNC today is a result of the sacrifices made by martyrs and veterans.
Furthermore, Töre underscored the importance of never forgetting the struggles that have taken place and pledged to dedicate all efforts towards the growth and progress of the TRNC in various sectors. He affirmed their commitment to moving forward hand in hand with the Motherland Türkiye, while upholding the values and history of the nation.
