President Töre Attends Nicosia Northern Ring Road Cloverleaf Junction Groundbreaking Ceremony
President of the Republican Assembly, Zorlu Töre, recently participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the cloverleaf junction on the Nicosia Northern Ring Road in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
During the event, Töre emphasized the importance of the TRNC as a young state, recognizing the role played by the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Command in bringing freedom and security to the region. He also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects in the TRNC, including the construction of new government buildings, road development, underwater water pipelines from Turkey, and an upcoming feasibility study for electricity.
Töre proudly stated, “We have Turkey, our Turkish nation. We have the TRNC, our symbol of star and crescent, our freedom, our security, the heroic Turkish army, and our Mujahideen,” underscoring the strength and unity within the region.
Furthermore, Töre expressed skepticism towards the UN Security Council and the European Union, citing their failure to prevent the recent atrocities in Gaza. Despite limited international recognition, Töre affirmed the resilience of the TRNC, particularly noting Turkey’s unwavering support as a crucial factor in maintaining the region’s stability.
As the TRNC continues to navigate geopolitical challenges and pursue its development goals, Töre’s remarks underscore the enduring spirit of solidarity and determination within the Turkish Cypriot community.
