President Töre Welcomes Turkish Industry and Trade Confederation Delegation
President of the Republican Assembly, Zorlu Töre, recently met with a delegation from the Confederation of Turkish Industry and Trade (SANKON) to discuss potential investments in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry and trade.
During the reception held at the Parliament Hall of Honor, Töre expressed his appreciation for the investments that SANKON plans to make in the TRNC, highlighting the positive impact these projects would have on the economies of both countries. Emphasizing the importance of business partnerships, Töre noted that Turkey remains their biggest trade partner and that collaboration with Turkish investors is crucial for boosting the economic growth of the TRNC.
Furthermore, Töre emphasized the significance of domestic production and employment in the TRNC, underscoring the sacrifices made by Turkish Cypriots to establish and protect their homeland. He paid tribute to the martyrs and fighters who selflessly gave their lives for the land, acknowledging the historical significance of their dedication and resilience.
SANKON Chairman Ferudun Cevahiroğlu echoed Töre’s sentiments, affirming the organization’s commitment to strengthening economic, political, and cultural ties between Turkey and the TRNC. He pledged to take proactive steps to foster closer cooperation and collaboration between the two nations.
Following the speeches, both parties exchanged gifts as a symbol of goodwill and camaraderie.
