Presidency Employees Receive Training on Spine Health
In a groundbreaking initiative, Presidency employees in Cyprus have received training on “Spine Health” in collaboration with the Turkish Cypriot Physiotherapists Association.
The training, which is part of the project “We are taking action for spine health with physiotherapists,” will also be extended to office workers in the public sector, Parliament, and ministries. This move aims to promote spinal health and educate workers on the importance of maintaining good posture and spinal health in the workplace.
The Turkish Cypriot Physiotherapists Association, under the auspices of the Presidency, is leading the project and will provide trainings and prepare brochures to protect public health.
The first phase of the project has already commenced at the Presidency, with Dr. Fzt. Şahveren Yücel, President of the Turkish Cypriot Physiotherapists Association, providing information on the “We Are Taking Action for Spine Health Project” to President Ersin Tatar and the Presidency employees.
During the training, Assist. Assoc. Dr. Sevim Öksüz from the Cyprus Turkish Physiotherapists Association and Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Health Sciences conducted posture exercises and provided valuable information on spine health to the attendees.
In his address, President Ersin Tatar emphasized the growing number of desk workers due to the increasing involvement of technology in our lives. He highlighted the importance of educating individuals, especially at a young age, to prevent posture disorders and expressed his gratitude to the physiotherapists for their training.
Dr. Fzt. Şahveren Yücel also thanked all the Presidency employees, especially President Ersin Tatar, for their cooperation and support in this project. Special recognition was given to the President’s Special Health Advisor Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı for her strong commitment to the implementation of the project.
The project marks a significant step towards raising awareness about spinal health and promoting the well-being of office workers in Cyprus. This collaboration between the Turkish Cypriot Physiotherapists Association and the Presidency sets a strong precedent for public health initiatives in the country.
