Presidents of Turkmenistan and Mongolia Hold Talks
Negotiations took place between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Mongolia
On October 12, 2024, the President of Mongolia visited Turkmenistan for the first state visit, leading to high-level negotiations between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan and President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh of Mongolia.
Upon the arrival of the Mongolian President to the Oguzhan Presidential Palace Complex, President Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed his distinguished guest. Following the official welcoming ceremony and photo session, the two leaders engaged in bilateral talks to discuss various aspects of cooperation between their countries.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for President Khurelsukh’s acceptance of the invitation, emphasizing the historic importance of the visit in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Mongolia. The leaders highlighted the mutual understanding and shared views on bilateral partnership and global development trends that guide their relationship.
Acknowledging Mongolia’s support for Turkmenistan’s neutral foreign policy, President Berdimuhamedov pledged ongoing support for Mongolia’s international initiatives. The leaders aimed to identify key areas of cooperation and enhance bilateral relations during the visit.
President Khurelsukh recognized the potential for further development in interstate dialogue, emphasizing the mutually beneficial nature of the relationship between their nations. The negotiations continued in an expanded format with the participation of official delegations from both countries, where current issues and regional agendas were discussed.
Following the negotiations, a ceremony was held for the signing of bilateral documents, and the Presidents addressed the media. During his visit, President Khurelsukh also met with the National Leader of Turkmenistan and participated in an international forum in Ashgabat.
