Prime Minister Ünal Üstel supports Natural Disaster Search and Rescue Association
The Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus, Ünal Üstel, has shown his support for the Natural Disaster Search and Rescue Association in a recent reception. The chairman of the association, Deniz Erdağ, spoke during the event and revealed that the association’s members had voluntarily taken on roles during a recent earthquake in the country. Üstel thanked the association for their efforts and presented a certificate of appreciation to the volunteers.
Erdağ also highlighted the association’s commitment to working alongside Civil Defense, explaining that the aim of the organization was to be a support to the existing search and rescue institutions in the country. Derviş Çapkıner, the Vice President of the association, also spoke during the reception, praising the Prime Minister for his support in promoting the growth of the association.
Çapkıner revealed that the Prime Minister had encouraged the creation of more Natural Disaster and Search and Rescue Associations in the country, and had been instrumental in providing support to the organization during its formation. The Prime Minister’s efforts to improve natural disaster response in the country and pass laws supporting search and rescue operations were also praised by the Vice President.
The Natural Disaster Search and Rescue Association aims to become a humanitarian aid foundation to meet logistics needs without being a burden on the state. The association receives support from local business people and is committed to serving the people of Northern Cyprus.
