Turkey Supports TRNC with 110 Prefabricated Containers
With the assistance of Motherland Turkey, 110 prefabricated containers were delivered to the Mukhtars Union at Famagusta Port in a ceremony. The event was attended by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia Yasin Ekrem Serim, Turkish Red Crescent Deputy Chairman Yusuf Ramazan Saygılı, Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz, Headmen’s Association President Akay Darbaz, and other high-ranking officials.
During the ceremony, speeches were given by the officials present. Headmen’s Association President Akay Darbaz expressed his happiness about receiving the 110 prefabricated containers. Yusuf Ramazan Saygılı, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Red Crescent, highlighted the importance of providing efficient working conditions for the headmen and stated that their efforts to increase the capacity of the Red Crescent would continue.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel emphasized the collaboration between TRNC and Turkey to prepare the country for global recognition. He mentioned that solutions to existing problems were found through the use of the prefabricated containers, which will serve as offices for the headmen. Üstel highlighted the rapid digital transformation taking place in TRNC to overcome bureaucratic obstacles and create a more modern country.
Referring to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s speech at the UN General Assembly, Üstel emphasized the support for the TRNC’s recognition. He stated that TRNC and Turkey are working together to promote the country effectively and implement major projects in areas such as education, tourism, and infrastructure.
Additionally, Üstel addressed the ongoing conflicts in the Mediterranean, underlining the importance of TRNC’s relationship with Turkey in the region. The support provided by Turkey through various economic and financial cooperation agreements was highlighted as crucial for the development of TRNC.
