Prime Minister Ünal Üsel Heads to Ankara for Economic Talks
Prime Minister Ünal Üsel is set to travel to Ankara this evening to discuss the newly approved 2025 Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). This visit aims to evaluate forthcoming projects and strategize new initiatives intended to enhance the socio-economic landscape of the TRNC.
During his trip, Prime Minister Üsel will engage in discussions with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, focusing on collaborative efforts and inter-delegation meetings. Joining him will be key governmental figures, including Fikri Ataoglu, the deputy prime minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, alongside Erhan Arikli, the Minister of Public Works and Transportation.
Before his departure, Üsel emphasized the strong bonds of “love, respect, trust, and cooperation” with the Turkish government, which have been the foundation of his administration since its establishment.
Highlighting the importance of the 2025 Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement, he stressed the potential for significant projects aimed at increasing the welfare of the Turkish Cypriot populace through newly generated resources.
“This visit will allow us to review our current cooperation and lay the groundwork for future large-scale projects,” Üsel stated. “I am confident that our discussions will pave the way for initiatives that will have a direct impact on the lives of our people.”
As he prepares for his significant engagement in Ankara, expectations are high for positive outcomes that will foster growth and development across the TRNC.
