Prime Minister Üstel Opens ‘Young Perspective Against Addiction’ Painting Exhibition & Awards Given

The exhibition of the painting contest titled “Young Perspective Against Addiction” was recently held, and it was organized in cooperation with the Prime Ministry Anti-Drug Commission and Gönyeli Alayköy Municipality International Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapies Association. The exhibition showcased the paintings made by young people between the ages of 14-17.

The awards ceremony and exhibition opening took place at the İsmet Vehip Güney Exhibition Hall, and it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel. The income generated from the sale of the exhibited paintings will be used to support individuals struggling with addiction and to fund ongoing research and development studies in this field.

The event began with a screening of a short film about the Social Cohesion Center of the Prime Ministry Anti-Drug Commission. Dr. Zafer Bekiroğulları, the President of the International Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapies Association, stressed the importance of enabling young people to express their perspectives through art in the fight against addiction.

Teyfide Tecel Hatipoğlu, Head of the Anti-Drug Commission of the Prime Ministry, emphasized the role that artistic activities play in helping young individuals express themselves. Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amacaoğlu also addressed the issue of addiction, stating that it is a significant problem worldwide.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel expressed his gratitude to the participants and stressed the growing issue of drug addiction globally. He also highlighted their efforts to rehabilitate addicted youth and the work being done to combat drug smuggling into the country.

The Prime Minister underscored the importance of collective effort in the fight against addiction, emphasizing the need for the entire community to contribute to this cause. The event concluded with the presentation of awards to the winners of the competition.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until Saturday, December 9th, offering an opportunity for people to support the cause and engage with the artistic expressions of young individuals.
