Prime Minister ÜSTEL Secures 21 Billion Turkish Pounds for Projects in TRNC
UNAL ÜSTEL: 21 BILLION WILL BE USED IN THE PROJECTS
Prime Minister Ünal Üsel emphasized the historical-sized Financial and Economic Cooperation Treaty signed with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, highlighting the allocation of a total of 21 billion Turkish pounds for the projects created. This funding will provide support for various sectors such as education, health, transportation, agriculture, real sector, industry, tourism, and energy.
In his speech at the ceremony for the “Republic of Turkey – TRNC Economic and Financial Cooperation Treaty” signed with Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of Turkey, Üstel expressed that 2025 will be a year of projects where many initiatives will come to life. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, installation in sports, and addressing infrastructure deficiencies in organized livestock regions.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Ünal Üsel highlighted the significance of the strong relations between Turkey and Northern Cyprus, emphasizing their common history, roots, culture, language, religion, and values that unite them. He reiterated the commitment to strengthen these relations in various fields, expressing gratitude to all parties involved in advancing these partnerships.
During his recent visit to Ankara from Geneva, Üstel discussed the negotiations for the recognition of Northern Cyprus’s equality and international status, calling for the removal of embargoes and the establishment of cooperation between the two states. He acknowledged the support received from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President Ersin Tatar, Cevdet Yılmaz, and Hakan Fidan in this endeavor.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Üsel emphasized that Northern Cyprus is a sovereign state and underlined the collaborative efforts to ensure peace, trust, and prosperity for its people. He highlighted the 21 billion Turkish pounds allocated for projects in Northern Cyprus under the Financial and Economic Cooperation Treaty, including initiatives in education, health, transportation, and energy sectors.
Üstel concluded by stating that 2025 will be a year of significant projects, focusing on both new initiatives and ongoing projects from previous years. He also discussed his meetings with various Turkish officials to address bilateral and regional developments and strengthen cooperation in various sectors for the benefit of Northern Cyprus.
