During a statement after the Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan mentioned that they have included June 26 and June 27 as administrative leave days before the feast. The Eid al-Adha holiday for public employees will commence on Monday, June 26. When combined with the weekend, civil servants will enjoy a total of 9 consecutive days off. However, it is important to note that this extended break only applies to civil servants under Law No. 657 and does not cover private sector employees.
What is the Duration of the Private Sector Holiday?
For private sector employees, the Eid al-Adha holiday will span five and a half days, including Sunday. This means that private sector workers will have a total of five and a half days off, comprising of a half-day eve public holiday, a 4-day public holiday, and a Sunday. Additionally, private sector employees can extend their vacation to 9 days by utilizing 2.5 days from their annual leave. For instance, if they take the entire day off on Monday and Tuesday, along with a half-day off on Wednesday using annual leave, their holiday period will effectively stretch to 9 days.
