Promoting Alphabet Unity in the Turkish World
The President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, emphasized the importance of achieving unity in the alphabet across the Turkish world. In a meeting with Kastamonu University and Education Administrators and Experts Association (EYUDER), Töre highlighted the need for unity in language, thought, and action, even if it may take time to achieve.
During the meeting, Töre commended the efforts of non-governmental organizations working towards the adoption of the Latin alphabet in some countries within the Turkish world. He mentioned the positive influence of leaders like President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey and President İlham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in encouraging this unity.
Töre expressed the Assembly’s commitment to working towards this goal and continuing to collaborate with other Turkish states. Adem Çilek, Chairman of EYUDER, also expressed their desire to open a representative office and host future events in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of gifts, symbolizing the shared commitment to fostering unity and cooperation within the Turkish world. As efforts are accelerated to establish a common alphabet, it is evident that these initiatives will play a significant role in promoting unity and collaboration among Turkish-speaking nations.
