Promoting Peaceful Dialogue: Initiatives at the IIR of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ashgabat Hosts International Competition on International Relations

From May 22 to 25, 2024, Ashgabat is the host city for the international competition “International Relations: Culture of peaceful dialogue.” The event is organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Education of the country.

More than 250 students from higher educational institutions of Central Asia, the Caspian states, Turkey, and China have registered to participate in the competition. The competition includes individual and group forms based on test questions and written examination assignments that cover various aspects of international relations such as political, diplomatic, trade, economic, historical, and cultural.

In addition to the test questions and written assignments, a joint brain-ring event called “Attack of Wisdom” will take place. This activity aims to explore the best methods of dialogue and cooperation between international actors through the analysis of current international and regional problems. While winners are not determined at this stage, active participants and groups whose ideas and proposals are prominently featured in the Final Proposal will be recognized.

Participants in both individual and team competitions will have the opportunity to win gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as diplomas and certificates of honor. Cultural, entertainment, and presentation events are also planned to allow foreign guests to learn about the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy and the country’s experience in training young diplomats.

It promises to be an enriching and educational experience for all participants involved.
