Qassam Brigades Capture Israeli Soldiers in Gaza Strip
The Al-Qassam Brigade, the military wing of Hamas, has claimed that they captured Israeli soldiers during a recent clash in the Cibaliya Refugee Camp in Gaza. In a video statement, Al-Qassam spokesperson Abu Ubeyde stated that their fighters carried out a complex operation, luring Israeli soldiers into a tunnel where they were ambushed.
According to Abu Ubeyde, the Israeli soldiers were caught off guard in the tunnel and engaged in a close-range confrontation. The Al-Qassam fighters also attacked reinforcements with explosives. During the conflict, all the Israeli soldiers either died, got wounded, or were taken prisoner, with their military equipment confiscated by the Palestinian fighters.
This incident marks the first time that Israeli soldiers have been captured during the ongoing land war that the Israeli army initiated in Gaza on October 27. However, the exact number of captive soldiers was not disclosed by the Al-Qassam Brigade.
In response to these claims, Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniey Hagari denied the reports of soldiers being taken captive, stating on social media that the information was false. The conflicting reports from both sides highlight the intense and ongoing conflict in the region.
