In a disturbing incident in Saint-Omer, Pas-de-Calais province, a pig’s head was found inside a mosque before the tarawih prayer, as reported in the national media. The mosque, where dozens of people had gathered for worship, was shocked by the disrespectful act, prompting the authorities to be informed.
İsmail Gülmez, the President of the Saint-Omer Turks Cultural Friendship Association, expressed his outrage over the incident in an interview with France 3 channel, stating that they would be filing a formal complaint.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin responded to the incident by ordering increased security measures around mosques and places of worship to ensure that Muslims can pray in peace during the holy month of Ramadan.
