Railway Weed Control: TCDD to Spray Pesticides on Tracks

The Turkish State Railways (TCDD) has announced that disinfection work will be carried out between various railway stations in Sivas province, as well as in certain areas in Tokat province. The disinfection is scheduled to take place between 29 May and 14 June in Sivas, and from 3-14 June in Sivas and Tokat.
The chemicals used in the disinfection process are noted to be potentially harmful to both humans and animals due to their strong properties. Therefore, citizens are advised to exercise caution around the specified railway line sections and stations. It is crucial for individuals to avoid approaching the sprayed areas, refrain from grazing animals in the designated locations, and abstain from activities such as grass harvesting and beekeeping for a period of 10 days following the spraying dates.
This precautionary measure is being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the public and wildlife in the surrounding areas. Citizens are urged to follow these guidelines to prevent any potential health risks associated with the disinfection process.
