Rare Blood Disorder Congress Held in TRNC
The 6th Hematological Rare Diseases Congress took place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, attracting hundreds of experts and medical professionals from Turkey and the Turkic Republics. The event, hosted by the Hematological Rare Diseases Association, saw more than 100 topics related to the most recent developments in the field of hematological rare diseases being discussed. These included diagnostic and treatment approaches, stem-cell transplantation, Turkey’s adaptation to global trends, and the shift from disease-focused to patient-centered treatment. The President of the Hematological Rare Diseases Association, Professor Mehmet Ali Erkurt, expressed the Association’s commitment to sharing knowledge and evaluating opportunities for advancing the treatment of hematological rare diseases in Turkey. The World Apheresis Association (WAA) President, Professor Fevzi Altuntaş, stressed the international significance of the congress and highlighted its role in promoting academic collaboration in cutting-edge research in this field.
