
“Re-established Cosmetic Products Board to Monitor Expired Products” – BRTK

The Council of Ministers has recently made a decision to re-establish the expired Cosmetic Products Board for a period of 2 years, as reported in the Official Gazette. The Board is composed of several representatives from different sectors. The Chairman of the Board is Birsen Günsel, who represents the Department of Medicine and Pharmacy. Other members include Chemist Naciye Yalkut from the Department of Primary Health Care, Chemist İdil Rıfkı from the State Laboratory, Dr. Pharmac. Umut Öksüz from the Turkish Cypriot Pharmacists Association, Sercan Görgüner Bahçeci from the Chamber of Industry, Pınar Başman from the Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. Pırıl Etikan from the Ministry of Health.
The re-establishment of the Cosmetic Products Board is aimed at regulating and overseeing the production, import, and distribution of cosmetic products in the country. This decision is expected to ensure the safety and quality of cosmetic products available in the market and to protect consumers from potential health risks associated with the use of such products.
The Board will be responsible for setting standards and regulations for cosmetic products, conducting inspections and assessments of product safety and efficacy, and addressing any issues related to the manufacturing and distribution of cosmetic products.
