Re-evaluation of High Council of Monuments Expected – BRTK
Minister of National Education, Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Addresses Security Concerns at Lefke Gazi High School
In a recent interview on the ’18.Saat’ program broadcast on BRT, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu addressed the security concerns surrounding the school buildings at Lefke Gazi High School.
During the interview, Minister Çavuşoğlu revealed that the school did not pass the earthquake safety tests and that a decision was made to demolish and rebuild the school. However, this plan was halted when the High Council of Monuments designated the school buildings as antiquities.
Acknowledging the concerns raised by the parent-teacher association about the safety of students and staff at the school, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that they have requested a new evaluation from the High Council of Monuments.
