Ministry Works on Regulation of Facility Management Services in Sites
The Ministry is taking action against criminal organizations attempting to seize the administrations of facilities, and is now working on regulating the “Facility Management Services” in sites.
Under this new regulation, companies operating in the management of sites will be classified and documented by the Ministry. Activities and expenditures will be reviewed by independent audit companies authorized by the Ministry.
It will be necessary for audits to be carried out at least once a year, and floor owners will have the ability to request an audit.
Additionally, an electronic software system will be established by the Ministry for transparent access to the management of the structures of the floor owners.
Ali Güvenç Kiraz, President of the Real Estate Law Association, emphasized the importance of the new regulations in protecting against irregularities and corruption. He stated that the establishment of the General Directorate of Facility Management by the Ministry would be beneficial.
Kiraz also mentioned the possibility of requiring collateral from management companies in case of irregularities, as a way to protect against misuse.
The Ministry believes that these regulations will bring transparency to the management of sites, and help owners select reputable and authorized companies to work with.
It is expected that the Floor Ownership Law of 1965 will need to be updated in the future to better suit existing structures.
The electronic software system established by the Ministry will provide transparent access to information and documents related to the administrations of floor owners.
