Record-breaking 2.3 million visitors flock to destination in 2024
In 2024, a record number of 2 million 303 thousand 762 local and foreign tourists flocked to the natural beauties of Bolu, Turkey’s nature tourism gem. The stunning landscapes of Abant, Gölcük, and Yedigöller attracted visitors from far and wide, making it a hotspot for nature enthusiasts.
Bolu, with 65 percent of its surface area covered in lush forests, has become a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of nature. More than one million tourists explored the wonders of Bolu in 2024, immersing themselves in the breathtaking scenery and tranquil surroundings.
Among the popular attractions, Yedigöller National Park, Abant Lake National Park, and Gölcük Nature Park stood out as the top choices for visitors. These natural wonders offered a diverse range of experiences, from serene lake views to adventurous hiking trails, catering to every traveler’s preference.
Abant Lake National Park emerged as the most visited location, welcoming 1 million 490 thousand 302 people throughout the year. Gölcük Nature Park and Yedigöller National Park also saw a significant influx of visitors, with 524 thousand 251 and 289 thousand 209 tourists exploring the parks, respectively.
Comparing to the previous year, the visitor numbers skyrocketed in 2024, with a significant increase from 1 million 267 thousand 596 tourists in 2023. The surge in interest in Bolu’s natural wonders highlights the growing popularity of eco-tourism and the timeless allure of Turkey’s stunning landscapes.
