Record Low: Ardahan Night Temperature Hits -12 Degrees
Erzurum, Ardahan, and Kars are experiencing freezing temperatures and snowfall, creating a winter wonderland in the eastern regions of Turkey.
In Erzurum, night thermometers dropped below zero, showing 11 degrees, while snowfall was intermittent. The cold weather caused ice to form on parked vehicles’ windows and frost on the trees. Some drivers even covered their vehicles with blankets to protect them from the icy conditions. The Aksar region, including the Şenkaya district, turned white under the snowfall.
Ardahan also saw a chilly morning with temperatures measuring 12 degrees below zero. Short-term snowfall added to the wintry scene, making roads icy and slippery. The city transformed into a picturesque winter landscape.
Meanwhile, Kars has been experiencing snowfall for two days, as cold air sweeps through the region. The Kars tea passing by the skirts of Kars Castle was covered in a layer of ice, highlighting the freezing temperatures.
