
Record Number of Heat Warnings Issued in Hungarian Counties

Highest-Level Heat Alert Issued for Southern Counties of Hungary
The National Meteorological Service has issued a highest-level heat alert for the southern counties of Bács-Kiskun, Csongrád-Csanád, and Békés in Hungary. The service is warning that median temperatures in these regions could reach up to 29 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the central regions of the country could experience median temperatures of around 27 degrees, while elsewhere in Hungary temperatures are predicted to range between 25-26 degrees.
On Monday, the weather is expected to be predominantly sunny with a mix of clouds and cloud cover. There is a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the northern and northeastern parts of the country. These regions may also experience heavy downpours. However, other areas have a smaller chance of precipitation but may have more cloudy skies. Additionally, there will be an increase in west to north-westerly winds in various locations, and gusty gusts are possible during thunderstorms. The daytime temperatures are anticipated to reach between 31 and 38 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the southeast potentially reaching 39 degrees. As the evening progresses, temperatures will drop to between 22 and 28 degrees.
Tuesday’s forecast indicates a continuation of sunny skies with clouds and cloud cover. The weather is expected to remain dry, with a slight chance of showers. North and northwest winds will strengthen in several areas. In the afternoon, temperatures will range between 30 and 36 degrees.
