Record turnout at Budapest’s 47th Travel Exhibition
The 47th Travel Exhibition recently concluded at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre, attracting over 23,000 visitors over the course of four days. The event featured various exhibitions and professional events, leading to an increase in serious inquiries for products and services, resulting in many deals being finalized.
Known as the Utazás+ International Tourism Exhibition and Experience Festival, Hungary’s largest tourism fair took place on a sprawling area of over 30,000 square meters alongside the Budapest Boat Show, Caravan Salon, and E-bike Test&Show. With 250 exhibitors from 35 countries participating, the event received positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors alike.
A significant conference organized by Tourism Ltd, focusing on health, sport, and active living in connection with different tourism aspects, drew large crowds. Discussions included national and international efforts to highlight the positive impact of physical activities and active lifestyles on tourism.
In 2024, domestic tourism in Hungary reached a milestone with over 44 million overnight stays and an 11% increase in visitor numbers. The Travel exhibition addressed key topics like data-driven planning, artificial intelligence, and emerging tourism trends, such as smart tourism and active tourism, reflecting the evolving landscape of the industry.
The Speed Business Meetings introduced at the Travel Trade Fair facilitated collaboration among various players in the tourism sector, resulting in successful partnerships and deals. The event also featured a diverse range of exhibits and activities, including a showcase of products from Slovakia and domestic destinations like Four Seasons Balaton and VisitBalaton365.
Moreover, the E-bike Test&Show, Caravan Salon, and Budapest Boat Show were popular attractions at the exhibition, highlighting the latest trends and innovations in the realms of electric bikes, camping, and water sports.
