Kazakhstan Celebrates Day of Diplomatic Service, Honors Unsung Heroes
On July 2, Kazakhstan commemorates the Day of Diplomatic Service, recognizing the contributions of thousands of dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the nation’s active engagement and influential role on the global stage. Among these unsung heroes is Madina Jarbussynova, a prominent Kazakh diplomat who has made significant strides in her diplomatic career.
Jarbussynova has served in various key positions, including Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and a Special Representative and Coordinator to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
The Day of Diplomatic Service holds special significance as it marks the anniversary of the decree in 1992 that approved the regulations on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy, and the duties of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. In a recent development, Jarbussynova was elected to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), marking a significant milestone in her diplomatic career.
