Refuting the claim that Turkey maintains trade relations with Israel

DMM disputes claims of continued trade with Israel

In response to allegations circulating in some press outlets, DMM has released a statement clarifying the situation regarding trade with Israel. According to the Israel Institute of Statistics, Turkey has ceased all export and import transactions with Israel as of May 2, 2024, covering all products.

The statement explains that Turkey began slowing down trade with Israel after October 7, as reflected in monthly trade figures. By April 9, 2024, exports from Turkey to Israel were halted in 54 groups and 1,019 different products. Since May 2, 2024, there have been no customs declarations recorded for exports and imports between the two countries, with the customs system for Israel now closed. The Turkish Statistical Institute also publishes export and import figures transparently each month.

Furthermore, shipments authorized by the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy for use in the Palestinian territories are conducted under the supervision of the Palestinian Ministry and confirmed to be destined for Palestine. The Palestinian Ministry of National Economy has affirmed on multiple occasions that these goods are exclusively for use in Palestine.

DMM refutes any claims suggesting ongoing trade with Israel and asserts that all trade activities with the country have ceased. The images provided by the Directorate of Communications reinforce this message, highlighting the strict controls in place for goods destined for Palestine.
