Remembering the Glorious Erenköy Resistance: A Tribute on Thursday
The Erenköy Resistance and Martyrs to be Honored in Anniversary Ceremony
This Thursday, a ceremony will be held at the Erenköy Martyrs’ Cemetery to commemorate the glorious Erenköy Resistance and honor those who fell as martyrs during the resistance.
The ceremony, marking the 60th anniversary of the Erenköy Resistance, will begin at 10:00 with the laying of wreaths at the monument in order of protocol, according to a statement from the Information Department.
The event will include a moment of silence, the firing of the gun, the national anthem, and the raising of the flags, followed by the signing of the Martyrs’ Memorial Book.
Speakers at the ceremony will include Erenköy Mujahideen Association President Mustafa Arıkan, Erenköy-Karpaz Mayor Hamit Bakırcı, and President Ersin Tatar.
The ceremony will conclude with a tour of the martyrs’ cemetery, the laying of flowers at the martyrs’ graves, and prayers being recited at the graves.
This commemoration serves as a tribute to the brave individuals who fought for their beliefs during the Erenköy Resistance, and a reminder of the sacrifices made for the cause.
