Request for Proposals: Güngör Regular Solid Waste Storage Facility – BRTK

The Central Tender Commission has recently accepted an offer for the privatization of the Güngör Regular Solid Waste Storage Facility as part of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Project. This decision was made with the method of granting operating rights to the successful bidder.
Interested parties looking to bid on the tender must submit their offers by placing them in the bid box at the Central Tender Commission Meeting Hall in the Ministry of Finance no later than 12:00 on Wednesday, September 4. Those wishing to obtain information and specifications about the offer can do so by contacting the Department of Money Exchange and Development Fund Affairs and paying a fee of 500 thousand TL + VAT to the cashier of the Revenue and Tax Office.
The Güngör Regular Storage Area, which was constructed in 2013 with funding from the European Union, has a 30-year storage capacity. However, concerns have been raised as the facility is close to reaching its capacity and has started to turn into a wild storage area, according to a statement from the Chamber of Environmental Engineers in June.
The operation of the Güngör facility is overseen by private companies through a tender process conducted by the Ministry of Interior’s Local Administrations Directorate. Unfortunately, the site has been plagued by frequent fires in the garbage dump, highlighting the importance of proper waste management practices.
With the acceptance of this offer for privatization, it is hoped that the management and operations of the Güngör Regular Solid Waste Storage Facility will improve, leading to better waste disposal practices and a safer environment for all.
