Turkish Coast Guard Rescues 70 Irregular Migrants Off the Coast of Dikili
The Turkish Coast Guard has successfully rescued 70 irregular migrants off the coast of Dikili. According to a statement made by the Coast Guard Command, a Coast Guard ship and boat were deployed to the region upon receiving information that there was a group of irregular migrants on a rubber boat off the coast of Dikili.
The teams rescued 50 irregular migrants in rubber boats who were pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements. They also rescued 20 irregular migrants on a life raft who were pushed back off the coast of Dikili.
After the irregular immigrants procedures were conducted, they were sent to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
This is not the first time that irregular migrants have been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements. Turkey has been struggling with the influx of irregular migrants who are trying to reach Europe through its borders.
The Turkish Coast Guard has been working tirelessly to prevent these irregular migrants from crossing into Europe and to rescue those who are stranded in the sea. The Coast Guard is urging all irregular migrants to use legal channels to enter Turkey and to avoid risking their lives by attempting to cross the sea illegally.
