
Rescue Operation saves 40 Trapped in Istanbul Residence Fire

A fire broke out in an 11-storey residence on Özdemir Street in Atatürk District, causing panic and chaos among residents. The incident, which started in the basement of the building for unknown reasons, quickly spread smoke throughout the entire structure.
Authorities were quick to respond to the emergency, with police, fire brigade, and medical teams rushing to the scene. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, while police officers secured the area and ensured the safety of bystanders.
Efforts were made to evacuate those trapped inside the building, with windows being broken to release the smoke. Thankfully, 40 individuals affected by the fumes were successfully rescued and evacuated by the firefighters. One person, requiring medical attention due to smoke inhalation, was promptly taken to the hospital by ambulance after receiving initial treatment at the site.
Thanks to the swift response of the emergency services, the fire was eventually extinguished. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, as residents are left shaken by the unexpected event. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and preparedness in residential buildings.
