Coast Guard Command Rescues Irregular Immigrants in Aegean Sea

Teams from the Coast Guard Command sprang into action after receiving a tip-off about a group of irregular immigrants stranded in a rubber boat off the coast of Çeşme district. The rubber boat, which had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, was carrying 13 irregular immigrants who were in need of immediate assistance.

In addition to the rescue operation in Çeşme, the teams also managed to rescue 33 irregular immigrants, including 3 children, near the same area. Furthermore, 29 irregular immigrants, among them 9 children, were rescued off the coast of Dikili.

All the rescued irregular immigrants were taken to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management Repatriation Center for further assistance and processing.
