Coast Guard Rescues 20 Irregular Immigrants off the Coast of Ayvalık
In a recent operation, Coast Guard teams sprang into action after receiving information about a group of irregular immigrants stranded in a fiber boat off the coast of Ayvalık. The teams swiftly reached the location with the Coast Guard boat “KB-115” and successfully rescued 20 irregular immigrants, including 2 children, who had been turned back by Greek authorities.
Following the rescue, the irregular immigrants were taken to the Coast Guard Command on Cunda Island. Here, they were provided with essential aid such as food, water, medicine, and medical supplies before being handed over to the Provincial Immigration Administration.
These rescue operations serve as a reminder of the dangers and challenges faced by irregular immigrants attempting to cross borders in search of a better life. The efforts of the Coast Guard teams highlight the importance of swift and effective response in saving lives and ensuring the safety of those in distress at sea.
