Rescued: Hungry and Thirsty Man Found in Ventilation Cavity After 3 Days
A daring theft took place in the central district of Yüreğir Sinanpaşa neighborhood on Sunday night at 23.00. A suspect allegedly entered a shopping center through a ventilation gap located in a jeweler and managed to steal 3 kilograms of gold and 100 thousand TL. The police, AFAD, and private security personnel conducted a search in the shopping center and found the suspect hidden in the ventilation gap.
Security cameras caught the suspect inside the shopping center’s ventilation cavity, but he quickly changed his position to avoid detection. It was revealed that the suspect resorted to eating food from the garbage to satisfy his hunger.
The jewelry company reported the stolen gold and money, but later withdrew its complaint. Meanwhile, the police and security guards monitoring the cameras in the shopping center noticed the suspect escaping from the building through the ventilation gap. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended on Karataş Boulevard thanks to the police and security team’s swift action. However, no trace of the stolen gold and money was found on the suspect.
The captured suspect, wearing a T-shirt with the word ‘Done’, was taken to the hospital for treatment. After receiving medical attention for dehydration and malnutrition, he was transferred to a safe location. The suspect is currently undergoing interrogation by the authorities.
