Residents of Gaza Strip Allowed to Travel North-South Starting at 07.00 AM
The recent exchange of captives between Hamas and Israel has sparked a crisis due to the absence of an Israeli prisoner named Arbel Yehud. In the second round of the captive exchange, Hamas released 4 Israeli prisoners, but Israel refused to allow passage from Gaza to the north, citing the non-release of Yehud.
Israeli Army spokesman Avichay Adraee has stated that vehicles progressing north from the Gaza Strip will be evaluated for the presence of weapons and asked Israeli soldiers to avoid confrontation. It has been reported that Yehud will be released before the next prisoner swap on Saturday.
However, Qatar has announced that the crisis has been resolved, with both sides reaching an agreement within the ceasefire and captive exchange deal in Gaza. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed that Yehud and another Israeli prisoner will be released, with three more prisoners to follow on Saturday.
As part of this agreement, the residents of the Gaza Strip will be allowed to pass from south to north. This development marks a positive step towards peace and cooperation between the two parties.
