Resignations continue in İyi Party as two more prominent members step down
As tensions and disagreements within the İyi Party continue to rise, two prominent members have announced their resignation from the party. The latest to step down was İyi Party Founding Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Ersagun Yücel. Yücel, who had been with the party since its inception, made the announcement of his resignation through a statement on social media.
In his post, Yücel expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the party and its development, but stated that it was time for him to part ways with İyi Party. His departure adds to the growing list of resignations within the party.
Another member who recently announced her resignation was Isparta MP Aylin Cesur. Like Yücel, Cesur took to social media to share the news of her departure from İyi Party. She thanked former Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener and all party members for their support during her time with the party.
The latest resignations have brought the total number of seats held by İyi Party in the Parliament down to 33. In addition, more than 100 thousand people have reportedly resigned from the party’s local administrations within the last 6 months.
