Restaurant in Famagusta Sealed for Violating Health and Hygiene Regulations
The Famagusta Municipality Police Department took action against a local restaurant for failing to meet hygiene and health standards. The restaurant was found to be storing products inappropriately, leading to the sealing of the establishment.
During routine checks, the Police Department and Health Branch discovered multiple violations, including 20 bags of chicken, 4 bags of old fish, 3 bags of offal, and 5 beers with expired dates. In addition, 5 bags of offal and 20 bags of chicken were being kept in unsuitable conditions. As a result, 9 kg of ketchup was confiscated, and the non-compliant food items were removed from the premises.
The municipality has warned the restaurant that further violations could result in significant fines under the Municipalities Law. This action serves as a reminder to all food establishments to adhere to strict hygiene and health standards to ensure the safety of their customers.
