The Sinop Governorship has issued a statement regarding the safety of citizens due to severe weather conditions in the northern parts of the province. The Provincial General Hygiene Board, chaired by Governor Mustafa Özarslan, made the decision to prohibit swimming in the sea today to protect the lives and properties of citizens.

According to the statement, the General Directorate of Meteorology has reported that in areas including Türkeli, Ayancık, Sarıkum, İnceburun, Hamsilos, Akliman, Kumkapı, and Adabaşı, the wave height is between 1.5 and 2 meters, with strong winds blowing from the west and northwest at speeds of 50-75 kilometers per hour. These conditions are expected to persist throughout the day, posing a risk to those in the water.

As a precautionary measure, beach access and swimming have been restricted in the aforementioned areas. The authorities urge citizens to stay away from the sea and follow any instructions issued for their safety. It is important to prioritize caution and follow guidelines during this period of inclement weather to prevent any accidents or emergencies.
