Resumption of Ship Traffic on Caspian Sea set for April 17

Maritime Operations on Caspian Sea to Resume After Weather Delays

Maritime operations on the Caspian Sea, which were temporarily halted due to severe weather conditions, are expected to resume during the day on April 17. The Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) announced that strong winds had forced vessels to anchor or seek shelter as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of crews and cargo.

According to reports, vessels have been temporarily stationed at anchorages and in safe zones due to intensified winds. Earlier reports indicated that weather conditions across Azerbaijan had deteriorated significantly, with northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 34 meters per second in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. On the “Oil Rocks” offshore platform, wave heights in the Caspian Sea were reported to be around 3 meters.

As the weather conditions improve, maritime operations are expected to resume, allowing vessels to safely navigate the Caspian Sea once again. Stay tuned for further updates on the resumption of maritime activities in the region.
