Social Security Payments Increase for Retirees in Turkey

The Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan has announced that February will be an important month for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees in Turkey. Işıkhan stated, “We will make the difference payments for our SSK retirees on February 6, and for our BAĞ-KUR retirees on February 7.”

According to Social Security Expert Murat Bal, the Ministry of Labor will deposit money into the accounts of SSK members on February 6 and BAĞ-KUR members on February 7. In addition, the minimum pension in Turkey has been increased from 7,500 lira to 10,000 lira. Bal emphasized the need to calculate the root fee, noting that citizens with a basic wage over 6,700 liras will see a 49.25% increase in their salaries. For citizens with a basic fee below 6,700 liras, they will be supplemented to reach the 10,000 lira minimum with support from the treasury.

Bal also provided an example of the salary changes, stating that a citizen with a basic salary of 7,000 TL will see an increase in their salary to 10,448 liras with a 49.25% difference. Retirees from BAĞ-KUR will see the difference in their accounts on February 7, while SSK retirees will see it on February 6.

These changes in social security payments are expected to positively impact retirees in Turkey, providing them with increased financial support in the coming month.
