Nahide Bayram, who went to visit her relatives in Çorlu district after the disaster, expressed her mixed emotions by saying, “We came to vote. I saw my friends and neighbors. We missed each other very much. It is a beautiful feeling, but we have pain. There is nothing we can do, we will get better.”
Similarly, Sevinç Yıldırım, who returned to the city from Mersin, was touched by the sight of her neighbors visiting her. She said, “My neighbors came, I was touched when I saw it. We could not return to our neighborhood. Right now I am shedding tears of joy. We are experiencing a bittersweet happiness.”
