Revolutionary Rehabilitation Clinic Offers Specialized Treatment for Visually Impaired Patients

A new rehabilitation outpatient clinic has been established in cooperation with the Kreatív Formák Foundation at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the University of Szeged. This clinic is providing a unique service for patients with severe and permanent visual impairment, according to Edit Tóth-Molnár, the director of the clinic.
During a press conference held on Thursday to introduce the activities of the new clinic, Edit Tóth-Molnár emphasized the importance of providing assistance to patients who may not benefit from traditional medical treatments. The goal of the clinic is to help visually impaired patients rebuild their lives and regain independence as quickly as possible.
One of the key features of this clinic is its comprehensive approach to rehabilitation, offering both scientific and practical support to patients in need. Currently, the clinic operates four hours a week, with the possibility of extending hours based on patient demand.
Éva Nagygyörgy, the professional manager of the Kreatív Formák Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s longstanding commitment to helping visually impaired individuals with rehabilitation and vocational training. The foundation’s Southern Great Plain Rehabilitation Center offers free services to visually impaired individuals in several counties, aiming to improve their quality of life and promote independence.
Patients at the new outpatient clinic can receive tailored training in various areas such as photography, household tasks, and IT skills. Additionally, they have access to psychological support and guidance from social workers to navigate the healthcare system and adjust to their new circumstances.
Overall, the collaboration between the university clinic and the Kreatív Formák Foundation aims to provide holistic support to visually impaired patients, helping them adapt to their situation and enhance their quality of life. This initiative represents a significant step forward in the field of visual impairment rehabilitation in Hungary.
