Ride the Waves: Clean Waters and Kite Surfing Event by BRTK
The European Union Information Centre recently organized an event titled “Blue Cyprus: Clean Waters and Kite Surfing” to bring attention to environmental and marine pollution issues. The event took place at the Heaven Surf House in Yedidalga, where participants engaged in kite surfing activities to raise awareness about pollution in the seas.
The main goal of the event was to promote environmental protection and raise awareness about the importance of preserving the seas within the Turkish Cypriot community. The event featured colorful images and activities aimed at highlighting the significance of keeping our oceans clean and healthy.
In addition to the kite surfing activities, the event also included a panel discussion titled “Blue Cyprus,” which featured representatives from various non-governmental organizations. The panel focused on discussing strategies and actions that can be taken to prevent environmental and marine pollution in the region.
Birol Urcan, the Team Leader of the EU Information Center, emphasized the importance of environmental conservation in his statement to BRT. He stressed the significance of maintaining clean seas, especially in an island nation like Cyprus, where the sea plays a vital role in the local ecosystem.
