
Risk of Turmoil in Our Geography Rises with Israeli Terrorism

Minister Yaşar Güler, along with Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak and other military leaders, attended the “Free Fire” ceremony at the General Nahit Şenoğul Shooting and Exercise Zone in Polatlı. This event was part of the Distinguished Observer Day activities of 2024.
During the ceremony, Minister Güler referenced the Battle of Sakarya and paid tribute to the founder of the Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as to martyrs and veterans. He expressed his pride in witnessing the advanced weapon systems and effective ammunition used by the Turkish Armed Forces during the “Free Fire-2024” activity.
Güler highlighted the successful demonstration of various weapons and weapon systems, including new generation storm howitzers, weapon detection radars, unmanned land and air vehicles, and robotic-armed vehicles. He emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in military systems based on the data obtained from such exercises.
In the face of escalating global challenges and tensions, Minister Güler underscored the need for increased combat readiness and effectiveness of the army. He specifically mentioned the threat of terrorism and geopolitical conflicts in the region, emphasizing the importance of proactive policies to maintain national security.
Regarding the recent Israeli attacks in Lebanon, Güler condemned state terrorism and expressed Turkey’s commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the region. He highlighted Turkey’s efforts to evacuate citizens and deliver humanitarian aid materials to Lebanon, showcasing the country’s support for its neighbors during difficult times.
Minister Güler also praised the successful humanitarian aid operation conducted in coordination with relevant institutions, which delivered aid materials to Lebanon and safely evacuated citizens. He commended the heroic navy personnel involved in the operation for their selfless dedication and commitment to serving their country.
