Rocket Fire Causes Fire in Kilis Region
A rocket fired from Syria in the evening sparked a fire in the rural Oylum mound and Akıncılar region of Kilis. According to security sources, the rocket ricocheted from a conflict on the Syrian side of the border and landed in a mined area, igniting flames in the region.
In a statement from the Directorate of Communications’ Combating Disinformation Center, it was emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces have no involvement in the conflict in Syria and there have been no attacks on the borders. Official sources should be trusted for accurate information.
CNN Turk Correspondent Pasha Alyurt reported from Ankara that the initial information suggests a conflict between groups on the opposite side of the border, resulting in the rocket falling. It is believed that a mortar shell may have been involved in the incident. The Turkish Armed Forces are not connected to this event.
The Kilis Governorate confirmed that the images circulating on social media belong to the Syrian side of the border. The RPG 7 rocket hit a mined area during a conflict between two SNA groups in Syria, causing a fire in the vegetation. There was no attack on Kilis in this incident.
