Rojin Kabaiş’s Body Returned to Family

The lifeless body of Rojin Kabaiş, a student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) Preschool Teaching Department, who had been missing for 18 days, was finally found on the shores of Lake Van in Mollakasım District of Tuşba district. Kabaiş had informed his friends that he was going to the beach to collect pebbles on September 27, but never returned.

Upon receiving the news, teams from the Police Department, AFAD, Gendarmerie, and Coast Guard Van Lake Group Command immediately went to the scene. After conducting thorough investigations, Kabaiş’s body was taken to the Van Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.

Nizamettin Kabaiş and his relatives, devastated by the loss of their daughter, were unable to contain their tears as they waited outside the institute. Following the autopsy, Kabaiş’s body was handed over to his family and taken to his hometown Diyarbakır for burial.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya expressed his condolences on social media, confirming the discovery of Rojin Kabaiş’s body. He stated, “Unfortunately, the lifeless body of our university student Rojin Kabaiş, who has been missing for 18 days, was found on the shore of Van Lake. May God have mercy on our daughter Rojin; I offer my condolences to his family, relatives, and our beloved nation.”
