A Technical University Report Reveals Serious Structural Defects in a Building
A recent report prepared by the Technical University (KTU) has revealed some alarming findings about the structural integrity of a building. The report, which includes crime scene investigation and eyewitness reports from February 12, 2023, found several concerning issues with the construction of the building.
One of the major findings in the report is that the concrete materials used in the construction were of low quality and cast in-situ. The concrete pieces were observed to be crumbled by hand, and there was evidence of decomposition at the beam connection point between the iron reinforcement in the column. Additionally, it was found that the sand and gravel could be easily removed by hand within the reinforcement, indicating serious weaknesses in the structure.
The report also highlighted inadequacies in the wall and column samples during core pressure testing. The concrete value did not meet the required criteria, and there were issues with column dimensions, reinforcement area, wall dimensions, and reinforcement detailing. These findings point to significant problems with the overall structural integrity of the building.
Furthermore, the report noted specific issues with the northeast façade of the building above the basement floor. Gaps left in the outer edge columns and curtains, coupled with deficiencies in column reinforcement and stirrups, were identified as potential weak points that could cause the building to break and collapse.

The Technical University report has brought to light serious defects in the residence that need to be addressed promptly to ensure the safety of its occupants and surrounding areas.
