Rotating Knife Attacker Arrested in Last Minute
Last Night’s Knife Attack in Izmir
An incident occurred at a bakery shop near Bayraklı Ekrem Akurgal Street Sevgi Yolu in Izmir last night. According to reports, a person identified as KK entered the bakery shop and attacked another person with a doner knife. The situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and the suspect fled the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene of the attack, the police began their investigation and search for the suspect. After gathering information from witnesses and reviewing security camera footage, they found that KK was at a taxi stand nearby. The suspect reportedly refused to relinquish the knife and even tried to attack the police with it. In response, the police used tear gas and fired shots in the air to neutralize the suspect.
After undergoing the necessary procedures at the police station, KK was transferred to the courthouse and eventually arrested by the court and sent to prison.
Knife attacks like this are unfortunately not uncommon in Turkey, and authorities are continuing to work towards preventing such violent incidents from happening in the future.
